Nissan TeRRA concept – images leaked ahead of Paris

With the Paris Motor Show just around the corner, expect leaked images to surface like there’s no tomorrow in the coming weeks. We’ve got a couple of such cases for today, with one of them being the Peugeot 2008 Concept. The other is the Nissan TeRRA.
The Paris debutant happens to be a zero-emission, 4×4 hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle concept, based along SUV lines. The B-pillarless four-seater, which has exterior design cues à la the Rogue and the Juke, features three electric motors driving the four wheels.
The front wheels are driven by an electric propulsion system as seen in the Leaf, while in each back wheel – providing all-wheel power as needed – is an in-wheel electric motor, based on the working prototypes featured in three successive PIVO concepts. Meanwhile, the hydrogen fuel cell stack is a flat, highly compact unit offering a power density of 2.5 kW/L.
Key interior elements include blond wood and coloured acrylic trim, playing off metal for contrast. The instrument cluster is a removable electronic tablet – when docked in the TeRRA, the tablet’s default view displays speed and other information, but the driver can easily toggle to entertainment, communications, navigation and other views.
Elsewhere, the TeRRA has the driver seated front and almost centre in a unique diagonal layout, which positions rear passengers over the shoulders of those in front, rather than directly behind.
